The BSc Post-Harvest Technology programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to minimize post-harvest losses, enhance the quality and safety of agricultural produce, and improve the efficiency of the food supply chain. This interdisciplinary programme integrates principles of biology, chemistry, engineering, and economics to address challenges related to the handling, storage, processing, packaging, and distribution of agricultural commodities. Students will learn about the physiological and biochemical changes that occur in harvested crops, methods for preventing spoilage and deterioration, technologies for preserving and processing food, and strategies for marketing and distributing agricultural products.
