The BSc Midwifery programme is a comprehensive course designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and professional attributes necessary to provide holistic care to women, newborns, and families throughout the continuum of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The programme integrates theoretical learning with extensive clinical practice, enabling students to become competent and compassionate midwives. Core concepts include antenatal care, intrapartum and postpartum care, newborn care, reproductive health, family planning, and health promotion. Students will learn about maternal and child health issues specific to the Ghanaian context, ethical and legal considerations in midwifery practice, and evidence-based approaches to midwifery care.
