The BA in Rural Community Development is an interdisciplinary programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the complex challenges facing rural communities in Ghana and beyond. It focuses on understanding the social, economic, environmental, and political factors that impact rural livelihoods and well-being. Students will learn about community development theories, participatory planning methods, project management, sustainable agriculture, rural enterprise development, and social policy. The programme emphasizes practical application through field work, community engagement, and research. Core concepts include sustainable development, social justice, empowerment, and cultural sensitivity. Graduates will be prepared to work as development practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and advocates for rural communities.
