The BA in African Discourse Studies is an interdisciplinary programme designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse forms of communication, expression, and knowledge production within African contexts. It explores the historical, social, political, and cultural dimensions of discourse, examining how language, rhetoric, and other communicative practices shape identities, power relations, and social change. Students will learn to critically analyze various forms of African discourse, including oral traditions, literature, media, political speeches, and digital communication, gaining insights into the complexities of African societies and their interactions with the global world.
